ABOUT THE SGC PRINCIPALS
 
Roberta Stathis, Ph.D., President Dr. Stathis has spearheaded a wide range of educational and research projects and corporate communication efforts for many businesses and non-profit organizations. Dr. Stathis spent the first part of her career in higher education, serving in leadership positions in the California State University. While at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, she was the associate vice president for university affairs and had responsibility for oversight of the university’s public affairs program, which involved the planning, management, and evaluation of a broad range of public affairs programs and publications. She also directed the university’s governmental affairs program. She moved from higher education to the publishing industry, where she worked for Ballard & Tighe, Publishers first as vice president for research and special projects and later as the executive vice president and interim company president. She oversaw new product development, strategic planning, marketing initiatives, and governmental affairs. Dr. Stathis is the author of several educational programs, and many articles and books. She has won several prestigious fellowships and received awards for her scholarship and writing skills. She currently is president of SG Consulting. Dr. Stathis holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and social sciences and a master’s degree in education from California State University, San Bernardino. She earned her Ph.D. in education from the Claremont Graduate University in California. She is active in her community, serving on the board of directors of the Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest (Southern New Mexico and West Texas). She is also president of the New Mexico State University Women’s Club and teaches a second grade catechism class. 

Patrice Gotsch, M.A.T., Managing Director
Ms. Gotsch has a background that spans the fields of journalism, public relations, teaching, and publishing. After serving as editor-in-chief of the biweekly GW Hatchet newspaper and working as a stringer for The New York Times, Ms. Gotsch joined a D.C.-based public relations firm, The Kamber Group, where she wrote and edited speeches, white papers, brochures, press releases, and editorials for clients including the Diabetes Research Institute and the International Association of Firefighters. After earning a master’s degree, she spent several years teaching English in the U.S. and abroad. She served as a senior associate for JTG, Inc., where she conducted research to support the development of a virtual university in Malaysia. For nine years, Ms. Gotsch worked in the publishing industry, holding the position of vice president and managing editor for Ballard & Tighe, Publishers, where she oversaw the development of a wide range of publications, including textbooks, workbooks, catalogs, web sites, research studies, and brochures. Ms. Gotsch is the author of several educational programs, articles, and books. She currently is managing director of SG Consulting. Ms. Gotsch received a bachelor’s degree in speech communications from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and a master of arts in teaching degree from the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont.
